Early Communion at Saint Paul's
In 2008, the Chaplaincy Council voted to allow younger children to prepare for and receive Holy Communion before the Sacrament of Confirmation -- this practice is known as "early Communion". Following diocesan guidelines, children seven years or older can, upon completion of a preparation programme, be admitted to the Sacrament of Holy Communion at Saint Paul's Church. The first children to complete the preparation programme (pictured above) made their early First Communion at Saint Paul's on All Saints Sunday in 2008.
